about iTraX™
Intro

iTraX™, a Request Management System (RMS) software application for the hotel / hospitality industry was designed and developed by Sigma.3 over a period of 2 years. It was officially launched in April 2002 during Food&Hotel Asia 2002.

Prior to the emergence of the incipient RMS application category, the only manual solution to tracking guest requests and tasks involves paper work intensive Log Sheets. These are inefficient, and are unable to give management real-time feedback on the status of requests / tasks.

iTraX™ is designed to facilitate and enhance back-office workflow by tracking guest requests and internal tasks / jobs. At the same time, it streamlines internal communications by leveraging various modes of communication: SMS, Alpha-Numeric Pager, Email, Wireless PDA, Internet Browser, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) phones etc. iTraX™ is a powerful, feature-rich, yet easy to use real-time operational and management tool. It allows hotels to monitor and enforce response time standards and ensure that tasks are tracked to completion. This in turn results in higher guest satisfaction and service levels.

iTraX™ was developed on the MacroMedia Coldfusion web platform and runs on Microsoft SQL Server. It is designed to scale depending on the number of rooms per hotel or hotels in-a-chain (running on a centralised or distributed server configuration for load balancing and redundancy purposes). Its architecture was built around the concept of flexible modular enhancements. This allows for easy on-going add-on feature expansion. iTraX™ compliments existing PMS applications and is designed to interface seamlessly with them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1
If iTraX is a web based application, does this mean that all iTraX users will have internet access?

iTraX can be implemented as an Intranet application. iTraX users will access the iTraX server without accessing any web sites from the internet. So no internet access is required for iTraX users.

Question 2
If my hotel staff has a mixture of in-house pagers, island wide pagers and mobile phones. Can iTraX use any of these devices to broadcast alerts?

iTraX can use ALL of the above devices to send out Job alerts and announcements. Pagers can be numeric or alpha-numeric.

Question 3
How does iTraX send job alerts to numeric pagers as oppose to alphanumeric pagers?

Each request category and location can be tagged with a 4 digit numeric code. So when a request is created in iTraX, the job is sent as text to alphanumeric pagers and a 4 digit code is sent to numeric pagers.

Question 4
Do I have to be with a specific Telco to provide the SMS broadcast feature?

No. iTraX will work with any GSM Telco.

Can iTraX send SMS to mobile phone which is from another country?

If the mobile phone works in locally and has the SMS feature turn on then yes.

Question 6
How long does it normally take to implement iTraX into a Hotel?

It really depends on how extensive iTraX will be used. Typically it will take approximately 14 days to install, configure and train users on iTraX for Call Centre, Housekeeping, Engineering and Front Office departments.

Question 7
Is iTraX expensive implement?

iTraX cost less by at least 30% - 40% from other similar products in the market. Because iTraX is a web based application, it is possible to have one server to serve multiple sites thus lowering down the cost considerably. In additional, unlike other similar products iTraX is not priced based in per seat licensing.
